The Cola – Water Debate… This is especially directed to those that need arguments against cola! The text I merely got as a joke from a friend in my email and I have translated it into english and found it so interesting that I share it with you here. Water The University of Washington investigated and showed that one glass of water takes in 100% of the cases the hungry feeling away by people on a diet. My suggestion is when you are following a diet and you get a hungry feeling, take a glass of water, day and night. A lack of water is the most important cause of tiredness and lack of energy during the day. It has been investigated that drinking water releases immediatelly energy in the body. So when you feel tired, take a glass of water instead of a coffee during the day. With sufferers from back pain and weight problems it has been shown that the drinking of 8 to 10 glasses of water reduces the pain significantly. And if you don’t like water then you can always have it flavored with a teabag… A slight reduction of 2% of the available water in the body can result in incoherence of the short term memory and cause problems when calculating. It has also been shown that it reduces the concentration when working with computers or reading printed text. In this case the solution is simple, for those behind the little screen; have a bottle of water nearby and drink often. For young people make it a habit that there is always plenty of water available. The drinking of 5 glasses of water per day reduces the risk of intestinal cancer by 45% and can help in reducing breast cancer with 75% The question is then; Do YOU drink the amount of water your body needs? However, a word of caution; Water is not to be taken for granted. In the body it makes other organs work in order to have it secreted again, like the kidneys. Your body is not a long plumbing tube that gets cleaner by forcing more water through it. Every time you drink water that your body doesn’t need, your kidneys are forced to spend energy to filter out this excess water. This filtration process puts significant burden on the tiny blood vessels that line your kidneys, which can contribute to the development of chronic kidney disease. The amount of water that you need depends on a variety of factors. Eating lots of water-rich foods like vegetables and fruits decreases the amount of water you need to drink. Living in a warm climate, regular exercise, sweating, and eating salt all tend to increase your need to drink water. Ultimately, the amount of water you drink should be determined by your sense of thirst on a moment-to-moment basis. Cola Here it becomes interesting… In several states in the US the road police take cola with them to clean the blood from the streets. If one puts a piece of bone (like the little bone on a pork chop) in a glass of cola, it will in a day or two be virtually dissolved. To clean the really dirty toilet; poor some coke in it and leave to rest for a while, flush and all stains will be gone, also the chalked up parts… To remove stains on plates and cups, like from coffee or tea, cola helps significantly. Rust spots on chromium can easily be removed by dipping a piece of aluminium in cola and rubbing it over the spots. Corrosion spots from leaking car batteries are easily removed by poring cola over it. If you have fat spots or grease on clothes from working one can easily remove them by adding cola to the wash in the wash machine and have it do its normal round. The acid in the cola dissolves the fat and grease. When travelling in the summer the front window of the car might stick full of crushed bugs that do not remove easily, cola helps! Information; the active component in cola that is responsible for these extra values to cola are; sulphuric acid with a pH of 2.8 and is capable of dissolving a piece of finger nail in about 4 hours. This acid is capable of dissolving the calcium in our bodies and from our bones and is a major cause in the increase of osteoporosis. A German University did an investigation on the increase of osteoporosis with 10 year olds, finding; the dramatic increase in the consumption of cola, due to lack of control from the parents. Most trucks carrying cola have the label; “dangerous substances” on them… makes one think doesn’t it? And those same distributors use the stuff they transport in order to clean their engines… Another interesting detail; Coca Cola Light is considered by doctors the world over as a ticking health time bomb as the cola is here mixed not with sugar but with aspartame (a chemical sweetener), which is suspected to be the cause of Lupus and the degeneration of the nervous system. After all this, another little tip; NEVER brush your teeth after drinking cola, you will remove your teeth enamel forever… As for me, I hardly ever drink cola or other fuzzy drinks. Next to the damaging chemicals in them, the colorants, the flavour makers and the acids they contain a huge amount of direct sugars. These sugars go almost directly in the blood and cause the blood sugar level to raise dramatically in a too short time span. This triggers insulin to be released in the blood for the sugar to be removed and as we have seen before this sugar is then stored as fat in the liver and around the kidneys, belly and so on… In prolonged cases of abuse (and I call it abuse) this leads to obesity and sugar disease… Makes one really think, doesn’t it?
